We Are Many (WAM) is a community-based arts and environmental organization that works with local partners to achieve lasting, practical outcomes toward self-sufficiency in Saskatoon.


We are a catalyst for positive and permanent change and aim to use the transformative power of the arts to bring people together to make a difference. WAM is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization.

WAM Festival

In 2008, WAM hosted the largest youth-run arts and environmental festival in Canada with the goal of bringing people together to learn about environmental sustainability, commit to making small changes in their choices and lifestyles and celebrate the power of collective action. With over 15,000 attendees over 3 days, the festival featured:

  1. Music from The Weakerthans, Joel Plaskett, The Sheepdogs, and Fred Penner.
  2. Literary workshops with Yann Martel and Guy Vanderhauge.
  3. Information fair with over 30 different community organizations.
  4. Over 40 presentations and workshops on everything related to sustainable living.
  5. A Children’s tent featuring insect identification, face painting and performances by celebrated children’s entertainers.
  6. Live theatre commissioned by the Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation and Hundreds of volunteers.
