Time Commitment: ~20 hours between March and October + board meetings when applicable.
About: The WAM Garlic Project promotes local food production within Saskatoon. WAM supplies garlic seed to yard donors who work with volunteers to plant, maintain, and harvest delicious, healthy garlic.
Duties: Purchase locally-grown garlic (using WAM funds); recruit and maintain database of yard-donors and volunteers; help organize garlic distribution, planting, and harvest; and attend WAM board meetings when applicable (maximum one/month).
Time Commitment: ~20 hours between March and September + board meetings when applicable.
About: The WAM Hydration Station is a simple, convenient, and portable tap water distribution service that provides community members with free, clean, and refreshing Saskatoon tap water at outdoor community events.
Duties: Contact local festivals to gauge interest in the service, assist with coordinating volunteers (as necessary) and attend WAM board meetings when applicable (maximum one/month).
Time Commitment: ~5 hours of coordinating per event + attending event + board meetings when applicable.
About: Events WAM currently organizes and supports include the Nature City Festival, Ice Cycle, and the WAM Share Fair.
Duties: Work with a team and refer to guidelines provided by previous event leaders to organize the WAM Share Fair and fulfill WAM's supporting roles in coordinating the Nature City Festival and Ice Cycle.
Time Commitment: ~0.5 hours/week + board meetings.
Duties: Help maintain WAM's online presence (facebook, twitter, and email), help organize/maintain WAM's electronic files and documents, and attend WAM board meetings when applicable (maximum one/month).
Time Commitment: 2 hour shift/event
About: WAM takes part in community events to introduce new people to the organisation and to say hello to familiar faces! Past events include the NatureCity Festival, Seedy Saturday and Earth Day.
Duties: Provide patrons with an overview of WAM's mandate, projects and ways they can get involved. All necessary materials and information is provided in advance of events.
